Data Nerds Campaign
Brand campaign/2014-2015

In 2013, New Relic was in a high-growth period but recognized that they would need to reach new audiences in addition to the single smb developer in order to really accelerate sales.

Phase 1 of the Data Nerds Campaign was based on the idea that everyone — from CEOs to salespeople, from developers to dentists — is evolving from data-oblivious to data-obsessed. Data is all around us, and software is powering our ability to collect, store and present that data contextually.

SMP: New Relic can help you unleash the stories that your software data is trying to tell you- making us all Data Nerds. The Data Nerds campaign centered on showcasing real customers and how they leveraged data to excel in their roles. Their genuine passion for New Relic made them eager to participate, providing testimonial quotes, photos, and company logos. This enthusiasm allowed us to expand the campaign to feature customers from innovative companies like Airbnb, Zendesk, Hotel Tonight, MyFitnessPal, Tango, Rdio, Disruptor Beam, TicketFly, Strava, Runkeeper, Bleacher Report, and Cure.org, further strengthening New Relic’s brand credibility and reach.

Running across digital, social, OOH, web, video, content, and events in 2014-2015, the campaign was fully conceived and executed in-house. I led the creative teams through every stage—from concept and design to copy, customer photoshoots, production, and execution.
